I probably don’t agree with this congressman’s views on much of anything, but I appreciate this statement. It sounds like, “Let’s think through the implications here”—skipping the melodramatic fear-mongering and pre-judgments.
I still want to know—is it illegal to record unencrypted data that is transmitted in the clear into public spaces? Is that illegal in Germany? America? Any country? If so, why?
If it’s illegal, I guess Google should be prosecuted. If not, what in the world is all the posturing about?
Can some journalist please do a little research and answer this basic question?

Really, today I cannot do everything. Tomorrow I cannot do anything. But today—today I can do something, and do it well.
