That said, I think everyone over 40 years old ought to sign up on Facebook—just to see what’s going on. (Warning: the first couple days after I signed up, I probably spent three hours on the site!)
And by the way, just because you utilize something like Facebook doesn’t mean you have to act like a nincompoop!

Yeah, the “online social networking” thing is weird and has gotten out of hand.
Honestly, I do use my Xanga to communicate with people I know in the flesh. I don’t intend anyone to read it that doesn’t actually know me in person. If I had a MySpace or Facebook entry, it would be the same way.
I guess that makes me old fashioned. :)
